The INFINITY project has just launched two surveys which aim to explore and understand the complexity of digital cultural heritage objects from two distinct perspectives: their reuse by professionals and their management at cultural institutions.
By participating in the surveys, you will actively contribute to the future of the digital creative economy and help the creative and cultural sectors evolve in meaningful ways across Europe.
If you have already contributed to the ECHOES Consultation, we sincerely thank you for your input. These surveys aim to complement that information, helping to deepen the understanding of real needs, barriers, and opportunities for the use and reuse of digital cultural heritage. If you have any questions about the surveys please email Fiona Mowat ([email protected]).
Take the survey on collections management
The first survey aims to gather data about collections management practices and information about licensing and reuse of cultural heritage digital objects from the perspective of staff at a cultural heritage institution. It will take 10 - 15 minutes to complete and the deadline for submissions is 30 April 2026.
If you are a cultural heritage professional working in Cultural Heritage Digital Objects (digitised or born-digital cultural heritage collections, aka CHDOs) collections management we encourage you to share your thoughts!
Take the survey on reuse
The second survey aims to understand how copyright, licensing and business practices affect real-world reuse of digital heritage, helping identify challenges and opportunities for the creative sector in Europe. It will take 10 - 15 minutes to complete and the deadline for submissions is 30 April 2026.
If you are a professional working primarily in the creative industries and reusing Cultural Heritage Digital Objects (digitised or born-digital cultural heritage collections, aka CHDOs) we want to hear from you!
Find out more about the INFINITY project
INFINITY is advancing the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage by supporting how digital cultural objects are managed, enriched and shared. The project will develop an open library of AI- and Semantic Web-based tools to enhance metadata, extract knowledge across languages, and integrate smoothly with existing collection management systems. It aims to introduce user-friendly infrastructures for large-scale crowdsourcing and citizen science, enabling broader participation in annotating and reusing cultural heritage, and ultimately unlocking the potential of digital cultural heritage objects.
The Europeana Foundation is proud to be a member of INFINITY, contributing our expertise and experience as deployer of the common European data space for cultural heritage.
