Data Spaces Success Centre (DSSC 2) is the continuation of the Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC 1), supporting the coherent development, interoperability and sustainable scaling of the Common European Data Spaces. DSSC 2 transitions from the initial design phase of the original DSSC 1 project to full implementation, ensuring adoption and scale-up. It will facilitate secure and trusted data sharing and reuse across sectors, benefiting public administrations and European businesses, particularly SMEs. By adopting common practices, building blocks, protocols and fit-for-purpose tools, DSSC 2 ensures that data spaces achieve economies of scale.
This project builds upon the work of DSSC 1 and aims to achieve the next level of user adoption and economies of scale. The project recognises significant progress in technical standardisation, a growing market of data space as-a-service solutions and increasing adoption of the concept. DSSC 2 will pay particular attention to adoption and scaling of use cases and business models. To maximise the value contribution of data spaces to the Single European Market, the project examines value propositions and incentives for data space participants - especially SMEs - mitigates legal uncertainties and addresses remaining technical interoperability issues.
Project goals
- Coach and accelerate data space initiatives: support initiatives to reach business viability and sustainable operations, with adoption and usage as top priorities.
- Support knowledge sharing: coordinate a platform where best practices, solutions, and success stories are accessible to the community.
- Capture and curate knowledge: leverage DSSC 1 guidance on technical, business and governance aspects to ensure interoperability and scalability, with emphasis on adoption.
- Create data and AI observatory and roadmaps: analyse the landscape, report progress and help data spaces align with strategic AI initiatives.
