INFINITY advances the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural by supporting the management of digital cultural heritage objects. It will create enriched descriptions of these objects through multidimensional knowledge graphs which support the objects’ nuanced, ethical and sustainable reuse. By embedding workflows, data provenance, IPR and diverse cultural, historical and socio-political perspectives into objects’ descriptions, the project aims to ensure inclusive and accurate representations.
The project will develop an open library of Semantic Web and AI-driven software components for metadata enrichment, multilingual knowledge extraction and AI tools, designed for seamless integration into existing Collection Management Systems. INFINITY will also introduce infrastructures with intuitive interfaces to support large-scale crowdsourcing and citizen science campaigns, fostering collaborative annotation and reuse of the objects.
The project will develop five use cases to drive the development of these systems. It will establish a stakeholder network, deliver capacity-building workshops, provide training resources and launch an open call for cultural institutions and creative industries. The initiatives aim to unlock the potential of digital cultural heritage objects to foster societal connections, enable innovative business models and support cultural preservation.
