3D4CH Competence Centre promotes the use of advanced 3D technologies in heritage preservation and education, ensuring sustainability, accessibility and cross-border cooperation.
The project will establish a Competence Centre for 3D cultural heritage, supporting digitisation, preservation and knowledge transfer across the EU and Ukraine. Building on initiatives such as 4CH and 5DCulture, and leveraging synergies with XRculture, 3DBigDataSpace, E-RIHS, DARIAH, and the data space, the project fosters innovation and integration.
3D-4CH aims to build skills among heritage professionals through multilingual training and tools, provide a platform with 3D digitisation standards and best practices, support high-quality 3D content creation and reuse in the European data space, and advance R&D by integrating cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with initiatives like the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH). Special focus is given to Ukraine, with a focus on strengthening digital capacity and aggregating 3D content through partnerships with SUM, SUCHO, the Museum of Ukrainian Victory, and the ENA Working Group, which supports the digital transformation of Ukraine's cultural heritage.
An Advisory Board and Stakeholder Panel guide and validate progress, while a sustainability plan ensures long-term accessibility, interoperability and reuse of 3D models.
Project goals
