Building on best practices such as the Impact Canvas (MeMind), the Museums of Impact self-evaluation framework and the Europeana Impact Playbook, Data Conversations will develop DIDACT—an interactive, AI-enhanced impact design and assessment tool. DIDACT will use AI-driven visualisation and text analysis to guide Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) in accelerating digital transition, enhancing sustainability, engaging audiences and using AI meaningfully.
The project will also create info-experiences - creative, collaborative methods and guidelines for audience-focused data collection. To support experimentation, at least ten artists and creative professionals will participate in an artistic R&D residency, exploring innovative approaches to data collection suited to CCI needs.
Finally, Data Conversations will provide targeted training to cultural and creative professionals on: adopting data-informed practices; enabling organisational dialogue around data; developing emotionally engaging, audience-centred data collection methods; and building practical skills for working with AI.
Project goals
- Build DIDACT – an interactive and digital version of AI-enhanced impact design and assessment tool.
- Develop ‘info-experiences’ - creative and collaborative data collection methods and guidelines which aim to create a better understanding of and engage with audiences.
- Bring together at least ten artists and creative professionals for an artistic research and development residency where they can learn and collaborate in developing new data collection approaches suitable for CCIs.
- Train cultural and creative professionals in adopting data-based organisational practices.
- Support CCIs in contributing to a trans-European dataset documenting the state of the art of the sector, their impact and audience collaboration needs and practices.
‘Data Conversations aims to help the cultural and creative industries to measure and tell the story of their impact beyond traditional metrics, and will offer them a new digital tool — DiDaCT — to do so. As a leading voice on impact at the European level, Europeana brings invaluable expertise that plays a central role in the project.’
